Counter-Strike 2 In-Game Photography
"Counter-Strike 2 is the largest technical leap forward in Counter-Strike’s history" (Counter-Strike 2 Official Website) I made my first contact with Counter-Strike when I was in middle school. This game exercises the player's spatial awareness, reflexes, and teamwork.
With the upgraded engine, the game maps have been fully rebuilt. The lighting on the map is brighter and softer, while the color appears vibrant but not overly prominent.
Using the Spectator mode, my camera is able to move freely across the map and to reach areas inside objects that has collision volume or outside invisible walls. Collision volume provides cover and obstruction which formed the attack and defense routes on maps. Outside the invisible walls are mostly low-quality images and objects that have no collision volume. They're used as backdrops or to create an atmosphere.
If to think of each map as a virtual world, places that were not meant to be discovered take up a large portion of this world, yet often being ignored by gamers because they play the game following the routes that the designers created on the map.
