2023 Investigating the Digital Reality

My recent practices explore and investigate the intersections and anomalies between the digital and organic. This topic is current and relevant to our times, and it provides a sustainable research direction. For now, I refer to it simply as  “2023 Investigating the Digital Reality.” My body of work mines the rich intersections of the organic and digital elements of our increasingly technology-driven lives. Through my investigation, I am creating a narrative that blurs the boundaries between these realms and suggests a new and ever-evolving relationship between humans and their rapidly advancing technologies. So far my investigations have led me to use a variety of materials and mediums including printing on special papers, bookmaking, website design, and in-game photography, and I am open really to any medium that can further my vision.

When it comes to digital anomalies, the transient quality of digital malfunctions celebrates unexpected beauty. They challenge people’s notion of flawlessness, reflecting on the value of technological imperfections and symbolizing the fragmented status of our existence in computer-mediated social reality.

Through manipulating the tools in computer software, shapes like digital sculptures were built in organic surroundings, transforming the images into confounding spaces. The combination of the two elements in complete antithesis to each other conveys a conversation and explores the narrative of digital languages in art.

My practice offers a playful take on serious subjects. In addition to showing humor through subject matter, manipulating the size, orientation, color, and permutations of images came to be my inspiration too. This mindset embraces playfulness, allowing me to take risks, explore new ideas, and enjoy the process of creation, which can lead to unexpected and innovative results. The works of this kind of creative thinking provide thought, while also entertaining the audience, inviting them to experience the same sense of wonder and enjoyment that I experienced during the creation process.
